Are There any Benefits to Drinking Beer ?
Yes. You might be surprised, but although beer is considered to be the belly-king, it definitely has its benefits. First of all, beer contains a good amount of vitamins. Vitamins are the blocks of your whole biochemical system. A pint of beer, which is now the recommended amount of the FDA for consumption per day, contains a small amount of alcohol on average, usually around 25ml of ethanol, which has its benefits by itself. Lowering homo-cysteine levels, as well as increasing the total HDL and decreasing LDL.
However, and that’s a big however, things can easily go out of control once you consume too much beer, or any other alcoholic beverage. Binge drinking is a very dangerous act, and unfortunately it is performed regularly in colleges all around the world. I have personally witnessed some of this stuff and it is dangerous, to say the least.
What is Binge Drinking and What are The Dangers of It ?
Binge drinking is the consumption of more than 5 alcoholic beverages in one time, that’s at least its ‘dry meaning’, but people usually just refer to it when someone seems to be drinking without control. The dangers are grandiose. Aside from its effect on the individual’s health, it also holds tremendous risks for society as a whole. Binge drinking is responsible for a very big portion of today’s road accidents, and many other crimes as well. That’s the main reason, in my opinion, society has to fight this pattern of behavior as aggressively as possible.
